CleanHut professional terms
Version 2026-09-19 · For cleaning professionals and cleaning businesses using CleanHut.
1. Your business
Fair to both sides: CleanHut’s booking, cancellation and resolution rules are designed to protect both customers and cleaning professionals, set clear expectations and keep every booking professional and reliable.
Cleaning professionals choose whether to quote for available work and set their own quoted price. A description such as “independent” or “self-employed” does not by itself determine employment or tax status; status depends on the real working relationship and applicable law.
2. Verification
Required identity and Right to Work checks must be completed before an individual professional profile can become active where CleanHut requires them. DBS verification is optional unless CleanHut expressly states otherwise for a particular future service. Badges must only reflect checks actually completed.
3. Quotes and agreed work
A quote must accurately describe the work and price offered. The quoted total is the final service price presented to the customer. Professionals and cleaning businesses are responsible for taking into account any VAT that applies to them when setting that quote and for accounting for VAT correctly. CleanHut does not determine a professional’s VAT liability. Once accepted and booked, the frozen agreed scope and contracted price cannot be changed unilaterally.
4. CleanHut charge
CleanHut's current platform charge is 10% of the completed contracted service amount. Where an agreed or final resolution reduces the service value, the platform commission and professional earnings may be recalculated against the adjusted service value according to the booking record.
5. Commitment, cancellations and no-shows
By accepting a booked appointment, the cleaning professional or cleaning company is committing to attend and provide the agreed service at the agreed time. If the professional or company cancels the appointment or does not attend, the customer receives a full refund under the CleanHut policy. The professional does not receive payment for work that was not provided.
Repeated, avoidable or serious cancellations or no-shows may lead to reduced marketplace visibility, a warning, manual account review or other proportionate account action. CleanHut may consider relevant circumstances before taking account action.
The corresponding customer late-cancellation policy exists because, once a professional commits that time, they may turn down other work and may be unable to replace a booking cancelled at short notice. When a customer reports a service problem, the professional may explain the work, offer a return visit or propose a price reduction. If no agreement is reached, CleanHut admin processing may follow.
6. Customer information
Customer contact details and exact service-address information may be used only for the relevant booking and legitimate related purposes. Professionals must not misuse, publish or sell customer information.
7. Evidence and disputes
Professionals should keep accurate booking records and may add permitted job photos. CleanHut may request information or evidence during a case. Earnings connected to an unresolved issue, refund or dispute may remain held until the applicable workflow is resolved.
8. Tax responsibilities and platform reporting
Cleaning professionals and cleaning businesses are responsible for determining, declaring and paying any Income Tax, Corporation Tax, National Insurance, VAT or other taxes and statutory charges that apply to their earnings and business activities. CleanHut does not calculate, deduct or pay those liabilities on a professional’s behalf unless CleanHut is required to do so by law.
Where required by law, CleanHut may collect, verify, retain and report information about professionals, transactions, earnings, fees and commissions to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) or another relevant authority. Professionals must provide accurate information reasonably required for CleanHut to meet those legal reporting obligations. Platform reporting does not by itself determine whether tax is due.
9. Status and other legal obligations
Professionals remain responsible for understanding their own business, insurance and regulatory obligations. CleanHut must not use contractual labels to remove statutory employment rights where the law determines that a different status applies.
